Open Adoption
We have always dreamed of having a family; therefore, we began trying to have children soon after we were married. After struggling with infertility, our deep desire to become parents led us to embrace open adoption as the way to build our family. With several nieces and nephews between the two of us, we can't imagine not having the opportunity to be parents ourselves. Our families are our biggest supporters in our decision to adopt. In fact, we have a unique understanding of the adoption process - Adam's sister placed her daughter with a loving couple through open adoption when she was sixteen-years-old. Her positive experience helped us realize that an open adoption with letters, email and visits is healthy for everyone involved.
